After 2 months in China and in South-East Asia, we were heading to the fabulous subcontinent.
Our first stop in India was Kolkata / Calcutta. The city is bustling with life and charming with its decrepit colonial architecture.

But it is also India we feared: chaotic, dirty, poor, squalid. Incredibly poor with its cohort of beggars and kids living on the streets.
Kolkata was the start of our Indian adventures. It was said to be a good summary of our feelings while travelling across the country: a love/hate relationship.
